In Motion Therapy
My name is Emily, I'm the founder and owner of In Motion Therapy.
I trained at the London School of Sports Massage (now London School of Soft Tissue Therapy) and qualified with a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, currently the highest qualification of its kind in the UK.
As an avid sports person I have participated in many sports over the years including competing as a Junior for Great Britain and Wales in rowing. These days, I regularly rock climb (mostly bouldering but occasionally sport climbing, indoors and out), cycle (both road and mountain biking), run and surf. Most weekends I can be found climbing rocks on the Yorkshire Dales/North York Moors or in the Peak District.
Before becoming a therapist I worked in offices for a number of years but felt the sedentary lifestyle suited my body less and less, however it has helped me understand that every body is different. Soft Tissue Therapy and Massage treats muscles not sports so my treatments are designed around you, to help you no matter what you do.
For as long as I can remember I have been interested in how the body works so completing the Diploma gave me the perfect insight into what the body is capable of and a more thorough understanding of how it works. Having had many injuries myself over the years due to both sport and being sat at a desk all day, from ACL surgery, broken bones to nerve problems, I have always looked for alternative treatments and found Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy gave me a solution, not just in treating but maintaining a healthy body.
I am a member of the ISRM (Institute for Soft Tissue Therapy), CNHC registered, fully insured and hold a First Aid Certificate.
